General
Our dentists believe in making high-quality dentistry affordable and accessible to all patients, so we offer an in-office dental savings plan for patients who don't have insurance. Here are the details.
The Media Lima Dental Savings Plan
We offer a yearly membership plan for children, adults, and seniors. For one low annual membership fee, plans include:
- Two professional cleanings
- Two regular examinations
- 2-4 routine bite wing x-rays, once per year
The plan also includes two fluoride treatments for children and additional savings on most restorative dental procedures. The dental savings plan ensures that you see your dentist in Media every six months, protecting your smile from problems like tooth decay, cavities, and gum disease. Many of our patients choose to take advantage of it.
The Dental Savings Plan Is Not Dental Insurance
Since the Media Lima Dental savings plan is not dental insurance, here are the things you won't have to deal with:
- Waiting periods on treatment procedures you need
- Limitations on the types of treatment procedures you can have
- Exclusions on certain types of treatments or because of preexisting conditions
- Yearly maximums
- Annual deductibles
- Copays
Instead of all these limitations, you'll be eligible for treatment as soon as you sign up!

Dental Implants
At Media Lima Dental, we offer several options for tooth replacement, including a standard dental bridge and dental implants. As with any dental procedure, there are benefits and drawbacks to each procedure that our dentists are happy to discuss with you.
Generally, our dentists consider dental implants the gold standard in tooth replacement since an implant replaces both your tooth and root. Here's what you should know.
What Is a Dental Implant?
Dr. Sung uses computer-aided technology to carefully place a dental implant into your jawbone, where it fuses and integrates with your bone over time. Once that process is complete, it's ready to support your new tooth, which is typically a ceramic porcelain crown that provides durability and aesthetics for your smile.
The benefits of dental implants are that they're the closest thing to getting a natural tooth, which makes them simple to care for with routine brushing and flossing. In addition, the procedure boasts a 95 percent success rate and offers excellent longevity as implants have the potential to last a lifetime with the right care.
What Is a Dental Bridge?
A dental bridge anchors one or more prosthetic teeth between two crowns that attach to healthy teeth.
The benefits of this procedure are that it doesn't require surgery and tends to be less expensive than dental implants. The drawback is that a bridge alters two healthy teeth for placement.

Orthodontic Treatment
FASTBRACES® is an innovative, patented orthodontic treatment that combines traditional brackets and wires and phototherapy and subsonic wave treatments to move teeth more efficiently and effectively.
Applying specially designed brackets and wires that are patented for treatment with FASTBRACES®, Dr. Sung can achieve exceptional results moving teeth into alignment during a fraction of the time it would take with standard braces. That's because FASTBRACES® combines the movement of teeth and roots by restoring alveolar bone through its patented treatment methods. This cuts down the time and the two-step method required by standard braces.
We are thrilled that Dr. Sung is recognized as a master provider for FASTBRACES® and can offer this unique and efficient orthodontic treatment in our Media dental office. He's achieved exceptional results treating hundreds of patients with FASTBRACES®, and patients love that they can enjoy their straighter, more beautiful smiles in a matter of months instead of years.
If crooked teeth keep you from smiling your best smile, we encourage you to contact us at (610) 892-9280 to learn more about orthodontic treatment in Media, PA, and the benefits it can provide. We also offer invisible braces with Invisalign, and Dr. Sung would love to discuss your options with you.
Pediatric Dental Services
Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is a tool Dr. John might use to stop tooth decay from moving further into your child's tooth without them having to have a dental filling.
SDF comprises silver, which kills decay and bacteria that damage the tooth, and fluoride, which protects teeth against decay. It's a clear liquid that Dr. John applies to the decayed tooth to kill the bacteria causing the decay while preserving your child's natural tooth.
Since they don't have to endure the injections and anesthesia involved in getting a dental filling, treatment with SDF is much easier for some children, especially if they might have anxiety about dental procedures or a hard time sitting for long periods to complete a procedure.
The downside of SDF is that it leaves a black stain in the area of tooth decay, which can mar the appearance of your child's tooth. However, this treatment can still be ideal for eliminating tooth decay in a primary (baby) tooth since it will eventually fall out.
Dr. John can help you weigh the benefits and drawbacks of treatment with SDF if your child has tooth decay or cavities to treat. You can also call your pediatric dentist in Media at (610) 892-9280 if you have questions.
Pediatric Dentistry
At Media Lima Dental, our pediatric dentist, Dr. John, works hard to create a safe and welcoming environment for children. However, we understand that some kids need a little extra assistance getting through dental procedures, which is why we also offer dental sedation.
Laughing Gas
Laughing gas, also called nitrous oxide, is a great option to help anxious children feel more comfortable during dental procedures. When children inhale laughing gas, it works quickly to help them feel calm and at ease. Even better, the effects of laughing gas go away once we remove the mask delivering it, so your little one won't experience lingering side effects that interfere with their normal daily activities.
Hospital Dentistry
Hospital dentistry might be a good solution for children with severe anxiety, special medical needs, or a lot of complex treatment procedures to complete.
This is where we coordinate time at a nearby hospital so Dr. John can complete your child's dental procedures while they're under general anesthesia that's constantly monitored and adjusted for their specific needs.
Children feel like they're "sleeping" during hospital dentistry, and their dental treatment is completed when they wake up.
If you feel like your child might benefit from dental sedation in Media, call us at (610) 892-9280 for more information.
Our pediatric dentist, Dr. John Kwon, recommends that children have their first dental visit as soon as their first teeth erupt. Early visits with their children's dentist help your little one feel comfortable when they visit our office, allowing Dr. John to begin monitoring their dental health and development.
Tooth decay and cavities are common problems for children that can cause discomfort, cause them to lose learning time at school, and impact their self-confidence. Routine visits to the pediatric dentist every six months help us to detect any problems as early as possible, which makes them easier and more comfortable to treat.
Preventive visits are a great time for parents to ask questions about their baby's oral health and learn tips for dental care at home. Parents play an integral role in helping children develop good habits and routines for oral care at home, and children will need help and supervision brushing their teeth until around the age of eight. Dr. John and his team are happy to provide you with guidance and tips for products and techniques that help your child make the most of their brushing and flossing at home.
If it's time to schedule your baby's first visit or your child's next appointment, call your pediatric dentist in Media at (610) 892-9280.
